Hi, my name is Nkeiruka Esere
Welcome to my Instructional Design portfolio. With a passion for creating meaningful learning experiences, I specialize in developing educational solutions that are both engaging and effective. My work is rooted in a deep understanding of instructional theories, combined with a commitment to user-centered design. I invite you to explore my portfolio, where you will see how I transform complex concepts into clear, impactful learning experiences.
For this project, I acted as the subject matter expert, leveraging my personal experience with phising and vhising attacks, and research. I began by identifying the overall goal of a cyber security training. I created a text-based story board to help put to paper my thoughts and how I want the training to be programmed. I have added an excerpt from my text-based story board.
Cyber Security Training
The rapid evolution of technology and the sophistication of cybercriminals pose significant challenges. Phishing scams, identity theft, malware, and online fraud are just a few of the threats that individuals may encounter, risking not only their financial security but also their personal privacy. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the shift towards online interactions, making it more crucial than ever for people to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves in the digital realm.
This e-learning training aims at empowering trainees by providing practical guidance on cybersecurity.
Solution
Through these scenarios, trainee will learn how to identify warning signs, make informed decisions, and take proactive steps to protect their personal information and financial assets. The training will feature clear explanations, easy-to-follow demonstrations, and actionable tips tailored to the unique needs and concerns of older adults. By emphasizing hands-on learning and practical applications, we aim to empower seniors to navigate the digital landscape with confidence and resilience.
This scenario-based e-learning video not only educates but also engages trainees, fostering a deeper understanding of cybersecurity principles in a supportive and accessible format.
Text-Based Storyboard
Visual Mockup
After the text-based storyboard, I began the visual design process by creating a mood board, a style guide, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma. I got my vector images from Adobe Stock, and used Adobe Illustrator to edit, shrink and change the colors as I saw fit. I have attached screenshots I took using Snag it, below.

I am very proud of this project. I am most proud of my ability to leverage Articulate Storyline, Adobe Stock, Figma, Snag it, and Adobe Illustrator to create an engaging scenario-based training.
